Terms of use

Last updated October 31, 2026

These terms cover your use of Hey Ned, the software at heyned.com that helps photographers run their business. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Hey Ned.

Early access

Hey Ned is new and still being tested. Features may change, break or go away, and we may reset test data with notice. Please keep your own copies of anything important, like signed contracts.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter into contracts.
  • Keep access to your sign-in email secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Give accurate information about you and your business.

Your content and your clients

You own what you put into Hey Ned: your client details, contracts, invoices, photos of your logo and your writing. You give us permission to store, process and display it only to run the service for you, including sending emails you ask Hey Ned to send and using AI to draft messages for you.

You're responsible for having permission to store your clients' details and to contact them, and for following the laws that apply to your business, including privacy, marketing and consumer laws.

Contracts and templates

Contract wording in Hey Ned is a template to help you get started, not legal advice. It may not suit your business or where you work. You're responsible for the contracts you send; consider having a lawyer review them.

AI writing

Ned drafts emails, replies and other text with AI. Drafts can be wrong. Read them before you send them; you're responsible for what goes out under your name.

Payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe through your own Stripe account and are subject to Stripe's terms. Hey Ned isn't a party to payments between you and your clients and doesn't hold your money. Refunds and disputes are between you, your client and Stripe.

Fair use

Don't use Hey Ned to send spam, break the law, harm others, or try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours. We may limit or close accounts that do.

Price

Hey Ned is free while in early access. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you in advance, and you can choose whether to continue.

Ending

You can stop using Hey Ned at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms. Where we can, we'll give you a chance to export your data first.

No guarantees

Hey Ned is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost bookings or profits. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the last 12 months or $100.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect.
